The collective bargaining rights for union workers that work for the government have brought on a lot of protest in Wisconsin. The pro-union and anti-union advocates have found something new to fight over now. MSNBC states that Twitter user JCCentCom said “use live ammunition” after MotherJones.com put on its Twitter page that Wisconsin state police were going to clear crowds in the capital. JCCentCom said that “deadly force” on protestors “threatening public officials” is just fine to do. This was during an exchange between JCCentCom and MotherJones copy editor Weinstein. The Twitter account and a now-defunct blog on Blogger.com called Pro Cynic were found to belong to Jeffrey Cox, a deputy attorney general for the state of Indiana.

Comments lead to lawyer being terminated

It isn’t “murder” to fire on demonstrators because it is police doing it using force legally, Cox said after saying that pro-union demonstrators and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) members were “thugs”. He said that union employees were like the “SA,” which is the non-military Nazi members in Germany called Sturmabteilung. He said the union employees were also “brown shirts” in posts. The Indiana Attorney General’s Office received a copy of the remarks. An internal review was done of the comments. An article on the comments made by Cox was written on MotherJones. This led to the announcement that Cox got fired by the Indiana Attorney General’s Office.

Governor deals with prank call

The Los Angeles Times explained that Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin had to deal with a prank call that came from Ian Murphy on a New York blog. He pretended to be one of Walker’s campaign contributors, David Koch. During the call, plans were discussed when it comes to the collective bargaining bill. Governor Walker was going to trick the Democrats into coming back to Wisconsin so the vote could take place. On the call, another plan was outlined. He planned on getting government jobs to no longer have unionized employees. There nevertheless has not been official comment from Walker. It might eventually happen though.
