There are certain things that are based in science, and there are things that aren’t. Nowadays, a lot of people disregard everything that doesn’t have its base in science, however, that’s a poor way of going about it. There are reasons these things are still in practice.
Card reading or fortune telling is one such thing. Now, fortune telling is a nebulous term which encompasses a lot of other things. For instance, you could be a palm reader, a tarot card reader, etc. There is a minute distinction between it and divination though: divination isn’t nearly as serious in its setting.
Can you reliably predict the future? That’s difficult to say. Since there are extremely large numbers at work here, it’s very likely that a number of conclusions being derived at are just because of that. Having said that, it would be foolish to think that there’s no logic behind these at all. That there is logic is, perhaps, one of the reasons why you still see fortune tellers making a fortune.
The entire practice has come under a bit of a scanner many a times in the past. There are good reasons for it. For a start, as far as card readers go, there’s a number of different ways in which the exact same card can be interpreted by different cartomancers. So, if you are relying on what someone said after looking at a certain card, you may just be a little bit surprised when someone else says something else about the exact same card.
Different card readers have varied levels of expertise. These inconsistencies also result in varied accuracy levels of the predictions made by these people. Some have been more accurate, some much less so. Just make sure that you don’t have unrealistic expectations – it isn’t absolutely guaranteed that what they say will be your future.
And on that note, it’s also important to be positive irrespective of what a card reading says. Just keep in mind that it’s entirely possible for the card readings to be negative at times. If you are positive, and the card reading negative, you can always try and make those card predictions wrong, now that you know what they are. That’s the best way to go about it.
